Water Utilities as Anchor Institutions
Join this webinar to hear from utility leaders about how water utilities can use their physical structures (built capital), economic and financial assets (financial capital), and human or social capital to create maximum shared value in their communities.

EPA’s Office of Wastewater Management and Office of Community Revitalization partnered to develop a conceptual framework for water utilities as anchor institutions, highlighting activity areas including job creation, convening and collaboration, environmental and public health enhancement, multi-benefit investment, and economic health and water services affordability.

Three inspiring utility leaders will join the webinar to share their stories:
• Charlotte Katzenmoyer, Capital Region Water
• Cathy Bailey, Greater Cincinnati Water Works
• Jeremiah Johnson, Beckley Sanitary Board

Their stories, along with those of many other leaders who generously contributed their time and expertise, inspired and shaped this framework for exploring how utilities add to the social, economic, and environmental fabric of communities.
